Rails-to-trails is a Federal program that encourages converting unused railroads to trails for recreational use. Recreation opportunities are a vital part of the livability of a community. It’s time to move Orchard Park forward and reverse the current Town of Orchard Park resolution of opposition to trail development and increase funding for the Orchard Park Parks and Recreation Department.
New York State law requires that property taxes not increase year-over-year more than 2% or the rate of inflation, whichever is lower. The Town of Orchard Park has voted to go above this state-mandated cap for years. It’s time to move Orchard Park forward with responsible spending that respects the wallets of Orchard Park residents.
Good government cannot be conducted in darkness. The Town of Orchard Park currently fails to keep residents updated and informed. It’s time to move Orchard Park forward by increasing the Town’s social media presence, updating and distributing meeting agendas in a timely fashion, and giving Orchard Park residents a greater say in their Town Government.
